Giving back to our community is even more meaningful when we can get outside, work together, and mālama the ʻāina. 7-Eleven Hawaiʻi team members recently joined the staff at Papahana Kuaola for a hands-on community work day focused on caring for the land and surrounding environment.
Throughout the day, our team helped clear areas around the stream and remove invasive and non-native plants, including Himalayan ginger and papyrus. Clearing these plants helped create more space for tī leaf and other vegetation in the area to continue to thrive and grow.
Beyond lending a helping hand, the day gave our team an opportunity to learn more about the importance of caring for Hawaiʻi’s natural resources and the role that mālama ʻāina plays in protecting these spaces. We’re grateful to Papahana Kuaola for welcoming our team again this year and allowing us to work alongside their staff.
Our support of Papahana Kuaola is part of 7-Eleven Hawaiʻi’s ongoing efforts to give back to the communities we serve through donations, sponsorships, community service, and hands-on volunteer opportunities. Whether we’re supporting local organizations or rolling up our sleeves alongside them, we’re proud to find meaningful ways to make a positive impact in our community.

This year was especially meaningful as Papahana Kuaola celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of nurturing ʻāina, culture, and community. 7-Eleven Hawaiʻi was proud to help sponsor its 20th anniversary Hoʻolauleʻa, a celebration that brought the community together to honor the organization’s journey and support its future. Proceeds from the celebration help support the programs and services that allow Papahana Kuaola’s mission to continue growing.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to support Papahana Kuaola and the meaningful work they continue to do.
