7-Eleven Hawai‘i is introducing a new Japanese-style Egg Salad Sandwich inspired by the popular egg salad sandwich offered by 7-Eleven Japan, available Tuesday, September 1, while supplies last.
In Japan, the convenience-store egg sando, known as tamago sando, has earned cult status, with locals and visitors alike seeking it out for its pillowy bread and rich, creamy filling. Now 7-Eleven Hawaiʻi is bringing a locally made version to the islands.
Made in Hawai‘i, the sandwich features a creamy egg salad filling layered between slices of light, fluffy Shokupan bread baked locally. Closely modeled on the Japanese original, right down to the crustless cut, the sandwich delivers a light, pillowy bite and a rich yet balanced filling, offering a simple and satisfying option for breakfast, lunch or a quick snack on the go.
“7-Eleven Japan is known for elevating everyday convenience-store foods, and we are excited to bring our own locally made take on its beloved egg salad sandwich to customers in Hawai‘i,” said Greg Hanna, president and CEO of 7-Eleven Hawai‘i. “By pairing the Japanese-inspired recipe with milk bread baked here in Hawai‘i, we created something that reflects both our Japanese roots and our connection to the local community.”
The Japanese-style Egg Salad Sandwich is the latest addition to 7-Eleven Hawai‘i’s selection of fresh, ready-to-eat foods developed with local tastes and convenience in mind. Beginning Tuesday, September 1, the sandwich will be available for $5.99 on Oʻahu and $6.49 on Kauaʻi, Maui and Hawaiʻi Island, while supplies last.
